In this painting camp/workshop participants will focus on essential oil painting techniques, including understanding tone and shadows, warm and cool colors, complementary color mixing, mood, movement, and composition.

While this camp is recommended for experienced artists, it is open to students of all skill levels. Each participant will receive individual guidance tailored to their unique progress and experience as a visual artist.

Artists will explore various styles of Japanese art, including anime, kawaii, kaiju, and yokai. We encourage students to be imaginative as they create their own unique characters with a range of expressions. Our creative environment allows artists to illustrate everything from root vegetables with an agenda to city-swallowing lizard monsters. This camp will center around artists learning to create their own character designs. They will be invited to learn from other artists and then encouraged to create their own characters. They will learn how to use human anatomy mixed with insect or animal aspects to create mystical creatures. In the first half of the day, students will work with Ronny to develop 2D artworks. In the second half of the day, artists will work with a different teacher on cosplay and mask designs.
